collab9 is seeking a Senior Systems and Network Engineer for support of its cloud datacenter environment. The primary responsibility includes managing and maintaining the virtual environment with multiple operating systems, including Cisco specific voice servers, fiber channel storage and Cisco security appliances. Ideal candidate will have experience with Federal Information Security Act (FISMA), National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) security controls and their implementation for a secure environment.
Pay Range: commensurate with experience.
Geography: preferably based out of head office in Rolling Hills Estates, California (but will consider out of state/virtual if candidate has suitable qualifications).
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Supervises: None
Key Job Duties:
• Identify, develop and document business requirements, technical requirements and functional design
• Manage and maintain VMware vSphere 5.x virtual environment, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Servers, CentOS Linux Servers
• Manage and maintain EMC SAN and Data Domain appliances
• Manage servers, including file / print servers, virtual servers, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software
• Manage security concerning Operating System Solutions by following industry standard best practices
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot moderately complex application server hardware, software, and peripheral devices
• Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Perform system backups and recovery using VMware data protection and data domain
• Basic Knowledge of Linux administration
• Implementation of security benchmarks, creation of security baselines for operating systems and applications
• Network administration for Cisco Nexus, Cisco MDS switches
• Advanced VMWare Networking Knowledge (VMWare vNetwork Distributed Switch, Cisco v1000)
• Configuration Management experience
• Experience supporting Cisco UCS blade servers
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS degree in computer science or similar discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer or a System Administrator
• 5+ years of experience in data network design.
• 3+ years of strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory (and domain related services)
• 2+ year of experience with Linux environment
• 3+ years of strong experience with VMWare 5.x environment.
• 1+ years of strong experience with Cisco Firewall management.
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise level backup and recovery software
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise level anti-virus such as Symantec endpoint protection
• VMware Certified Professional 5 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV) is required
• Process both technical and non-technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to conceptualize, plan, develop and deliver a variety of creative solutions.
• Ability to identify, develop and document business requirements, technical requirements and functional design.
• Ability to document and explain complex technical concepts.
• Ability to write, edit, and prepare graphic presentations of technical information for both technical and business personnel.
• Experience in organizing information in a way that is appropriate for technical explanations without losing sight of the needs and aptitude of the audience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in government agencies subject to FISMA
• Experience with Cloud environments is highly desirable
• PowerShell
• Coding/scripting abilities (Perl, Python)
